Antarctic Icebergs from the plane

The story behind "Antarctic Icebergs from the plane"

After being on the ice for almost 2 weeks, we headed back towards the mainland of South America. Most people were asleep, so I could see out of one of only 2 small windows this huge Ilyushin freightplane possessed. We passed the edge of the continent here, in the back you can still see a distant mountain range, in the foreground you can see the huge chunks of ice breaking off into enormous icebergs.

A little while later the sun was almost down the horizon -for the first time in 2 weeks- but then at about 4 in the morning it came up again.. One more day until our first moment of real darkness..
