Sunrise from North side of Elbrus, 4800m

The story behind "Sunrise from North side of Elbrus, 4800m"

The sun came up to chase the cold darkness away, while we were climbing at about 4800m altitude. Slowly the wonderful foothills of the Western Caucasus came back into view. As Elbrus is not only the highest mountain of Europe, but also the only big one in the west of the range, you see no other peaks sticking out when climbing from the North and you feel truly on top of the world.
