I visited Lorenzo in Italy in February and together we enjoyed the Italian cuisine as well as the nature. We decided to climb a nice couloir in the Southern Alps, as all the access roads were still snowed in and tracks invisible we used snowshoes to find our way across snowy forests, frozen rivers and curious Ibex.
But one of the best views was actually early morning from the parking lot when we were changing into our winter gear, suddenly the sun broke through behind this mountain and projected its shadow onto another thin layer of clouds, creating this hazy mountain halo…

That looks quite incredible. What are the black patches running along the base of the mountain – is that tree cover, or another trick of the light?
