Waking up in Zürich, Switzerland at 06.00 in the morning was not very easy, but after one hour in the train we knew it was worth it. We got out at Braunwald, a car-free village in the Swiss Alps, where we could see the Ortstock, the majestic mountain above.
It is 2716m high, so about 12oom (4000ft) above the village. It is less techical than it looks and a great hike and the views from the summit were wonderful. We went down the other side and in the early evening anothe rtrain dropped us back off in lovely Zürich. What a great way to spend a sunday :)

Wow, gorgeous view! Sorry Harry for not posting comments / photos in a couple of days, but I\'ve been busy moving. Now I\'m back, hopefully with one OK shot per day.
Wow..beautiful. Switzerland has been on my list of must see places since I was a child. This shot confirms my desire!
What do you mean by “less techical”? No ropes? Great Pic.
(HK) Thanks Rob. Yes, less technical means no ropes, no crampons or any ‘hardware’ like camming devices, icescrews etc.
Beautiful photo. And it does sound like a great way to spend a day. Looks like you had great weather for it, too!
