In 2000 I went to Guatemala to take some Spanish lessons and to visit my friend Jaime Vinals. One of the poorest countries in the world, it has been plagued by a long civil war, leaving a full generation without proper education and only memories of war
After classes Jaime took me to the wonderful Guatemalan villages and volcanoes, both of them quite active :)
The people from this poor country are dressed very colourful, where the different villages have their own colour schemes – in adition to many times having another language as well!
As seen in the Nepali image, the cola wars have not left the central American countries untouched and this child is being ‘treated’ to our worldwide favorite drink..
shot with some Kodak film, taken with Canon EOS 500n in 2000.
