To the future with Stalin and Lenin

The story behind "To the future with Stalin and Lenin"

This image illustrates the changes in Russia. The old heroes Stalin and Lenin are now reduced to tourist attractions. Just a hundred meters away from Lenin’s tomb on Red Square, capitalism has won, as for a few rubles you can have your picture taken with the man who turned Russia into a superpower (killing millions on the way, making Hitler look like a joke) and the man who laid the foundations for all of this. By the way, in 1899 Lenin published a book called “The Development of Capitalism in Russia”, he will probably turn in his nearby grave when he sees what has become of the world..

Shaking hand with Stalin is Eduardo, next to Lenin -advocate of “mass terror against enemies of the revolution” – is Romke, they both summited Elbrus about a week later. To the Future!
